While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

'Hamas: Israel’s crimes against civilians in Gaza are blatant challenge to international community

Tuesday 29-April-2025

DOHA, (PIC)

'Hamas Movement said the intensive raids on civilians throughout the Gaza Strip are part of the “Israeli occupation’s daily massacres carried out against our people, leading to the martyrdom of dozens of innocent civilians every day, in a continuous scene of genocide and ethnic cleansing.”

'Hamas affirmed in a press statement on Monday that “these crimes constitute a blatant message of defiance from the criminal enemy’s government to the international community, especially with the International Court of Justice convening today to discuss Israel’s obligations towards our people as an occupying power”.

It stressed that Israel’s disregard for international law and the United Nations and its institutions, and the war criminal Netanyahu government’s insistence on continuing its brutal annihilation operations in the Strip, require urgent and effective action.

'Hamas called for deterring “Israel’s terrorism and fascism, holding war criminals accountable for their crimes against humanity, and supporting our people’s right to freedom and self-determination.”

For its part, the Palestinian Government Media Office in Gaza (PGMO) warned, in a statement on Monday, of widespread cases of severe malnutrition in the Strip, especially among children and infants, amid the ongoing Israeli war of extermination, the closure of crossings, and the prevention of aid.

The PGMO announced that the number of severe malnutrition cases that reached the remaining hospitals and medical centers has reached 65,000, out of 1.1 million children in the Gaza Strip who suffer from daily hunger.

It pointed out that Israel is using starvation and thirst as a systematic weapon of war, targeting life in the Gaza Strip, in flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws and conventions.

The PGMO held Israel fully responsible for the worsening humanitarian disaster and for putting the lives of hundreds of thousands of children, women, and the elderly in grave danger due to shortages of food, medicine, and water.

It also held the international community and its institutions responsible for their silence on these crimes and for failing to take deterrent measures to hold the Israeli officials accountable for their brutal and continuous violations.

The Office renewed its demands for the immediate and unconditional opening of all crossings into the Gaza Strip, calling for the delivery of humanitarian aid, food supplements, and medicine, especially for children and the sick, to save lives and prevent the catastrophic humanitarian collapse.

UNRWA: While Palestinians starve, humanitarian aid bound for Gaza spoiled, due to the Israeli closure of border crossings

Tuesday 29-April-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that humanitarian aid supposed to be brought into the Gaza Strip is being spoiled, while hunger is worsening among the population due to the continued closure of crossings.

UNRWA added in statements that around 3,000 trucks loaded with basic supplies remain stuck and waiting to be allowed into the Strip, warning that these supplies are intended for those in need and will spoil over time.

UNRWA called for the immediate lifting of the Israeli blockade, stressing that the humanitarian suffering in Gaza is worsening day by day, amid the ongoing aggression and the depletion of food and water.

The Gaza Strip is facing its worst humanitarian crisis in more than 18 months as a result of the ongoing Israeli war of extermination and blockade, which has exacerbated the health and living conditions of civilians in general, and women and children in particular, in light of an increase in cases of malnutrition and miscarriages in addition to the need for incubators.

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime releases 10 detainees from Gaza, including paramedic As'ad Al-Nasasra

GAZA, April 29, 2025 (WAFA) -

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime released on Tuesday ten detainees from the Gaza Strip, including a paramedic.

WAFA correspondent reported that the ten detainees were freed from Israeli prisons and transferred to the Martyrs of Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, after being freed via the Kissufim checkpoint.

In a brief statement, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) confirmed the release of paramedic As'ad Al-Nasasra, who had been detained on March 23, 2025, while performing his humanitarian duties during the Israeli massacre of medical teams in the Tel Sultan area of Rafa'h. The massacre resulted in the killing of eight members of the PRCS ambulance staff.

Yesterday, Israeli authorities also released 11 detainees from the Gaza Strip.

A recent report issued by the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) highlighted the severe conditions endured by Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.

The report stated that the prison system, according to testimonies from a group of detainees, has used every method possible to strip them of their humanity and psychologically break them.

The report further noted that despite 19 months since the ongoing genocide, the conditions of detention remain unchanged, and in some cases, have worsened. Time has become a decisive factor in the fate of detainees, with the continuation of this relentless cruelty, the report stated.

As of early April 2025, the number of detainees from Gaza acknowledged by the Israeli prison system stood at 1,747, not including those held in military camps.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll by the Israeli war of genocide against the Gaza Strip has risen to 52,365 martyrs while 117,905 others were wounded since October 7, 2023.

In its daily statistical report, the Ministry said on Tuesday that Gaza hospitals received 51 bodies of martyrs, including a recovered body from under the rubble, in addition to 113 injuries in the past 24 hours as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocidal war.

It noted that a number of victims remain under the rubble of destroyed houses and on the roads, as ambulance crews and civil defense teams cannot reach them.

In early March, the first phase of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between 'Hamas and Israel, which began on January 19, 2025 with Egyptian and Qatari mediation and US support, came to an end.

On March 18, Israel reneged on the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in effect since January 19 and resumed its war of genocide against the Gaza Strip, despite Hamas’s commitment to all terms of the agreement.

Ben Gvir orders closure of “al-Quds Fund and Endowment Office” in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)

Tuesday 29-April-2025

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)

Far-right Israeli security minister Itamar Ben Gvir decided on Monday to shut down the al-Quds Fund and Endowment Office in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), claiming the office was carrying out activities on behalf of the Palestinian Authority (PA).

In a statement, the Jerusalem Governorate condemned Ben Gvir’s decision as a “hostile step” and “part of the occupation’s systematic efforts to undermine the Palestinian presence in their occupied capital and part of its open-ended war against the Jerusalemite institutions.”

The Jerusalem Governorate described Ben Gvir’s claim against the al-Quds Fund and Endowment Office as “baseless and untrue,” affirming that the office operates solely as a non-political entity, focusing exclusively on social, humanitarian, and charitable endeavors.

For its part, the PA ministry of foreign affairs called the Israeli decision to close the al-Quds Fund and Endowment Office “another facet of genocide, displacement and annexation,” and “part of the Judaization crimes happening in Jerusalem.”

In its statement, the ministry said that the office joined many charitable and humanitarian institutions and organizations that had been closed previously in Jerusalem for their role in serving Jerusalemite citizens.

The ministry expressed its belief that such a measure against the office would place further restrictions on the lives of Jerusalemite citizens with the aim of forcing them to leave their city.

The ministry held the international community responsible for its failure to enforce international resolutions concerning Palestine, particularly those addressing the situation in Jerusalem.

Israeli occupation forces raze large tract of Palestinian lands south of Nablus

RAMALLAH, April 29, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces razed Tuesday Palestinian lands in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus.

The head of the Qusra village council, Hani 'Oada, told WAFA that an Israeli bulldozer is currently bulldozing Palestinian lands south of the village.

'Oada said that residents cannot access or plow areas classified as "B," some of which are only ten meters away from homes. This is because the occupation forces have closed agricultural roads leading to these lands and prevented residents from approaching them.

He pointed out that colonists are also placing mobile caravans on Palestinian lands in preparation for seizing more of them and establishing colonial outposts on them.

The area of Qusra lands is nine thousand dunams, classified as Areas B and C, and is surrounded by five colonies. The illegal outpost of Migdolim, the largest settlement in the area, is located on the citizens' lands in the eastern area, while four other outposts are located in the southern area.

During their tours at the Islamic holy site, the settlers received lectures from rabbis about the alleged temple mount and a number of them provocatively performed provocative dances and Talmudic prayers in the eastern area of the Mosque.

In a serious violation, some settlers recited the so-called Birkat Kohanim (priestly blessing) prayer in front of the stairway of the Dome of the Rock plateau in the Aqsa Mosque compound, with one of them wearing a Jewish prayer shawl (Tallit).

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation police imposed movement and entry restrictions on Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque’s entrances and gates and prevented many of them from entering the holy site.

ActionAid: Flour prices soar to $300 a bag after more than 50 days without new aid deliveries

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), April 29, 2025 (WAFA) -

Food prices are skyrocketing in Gaza, ActionAid’s staff and partners reported today, as the total ban on aid entering the territory continues into its eighth week, causing major shortages and deliberately depriving people of the essentials needed to sustain life.

More than 50 days after the Israeli authorities shut all border crossings into Gaza and denied food, medicines and other aid from entering, noting that food products such as meat, fruits, eggs and dairy have all but run out and are no longer available to purchase at markets, and the few items that are left to buy have soared to unprecedentedly high prices.

Today in Deir Al Balah a bag of flour cost $300, ActionAid staff said, while in the north the price is reportedly as high as $500. Food production inside Gaza is all but impossible, with agricultural land and infrastructure largely destroyed by bombing or under the control of the Israeli military, said ActionAid in a statement.

The statement read, “Most people are now surviving on a single meal per day, predominantly consisting of pasta, rice or canned food. The scarcity of food and lack of diversity in people’s diets is having a detrimental impact: more than 3,700 children were newly admitted for treatment for acute malnutrition in March, an 80% rise on the previous month, according to UNOCHA. Staff at Al-Awda Hospital, run by ActionAid’s partner Al-Awda, say they are seeing more and more pregnant and breastfeeding women experiencing moderate or severe malnutrition and that most babies are being born underweight.”

Riham Jafari, Advocacy and Communications Coordinator at ActionAid Palestine said: “We are running out of ways to sound the alarm as the consequences of the Israeli authorities’ appalling and outrageously illegal aid blockade become more and more apparent. People are already struggling to find anything at all to eat; mass starvation is on the horizon. This is a completely avoidable and entirely man-made crisis that is deepening by the day.”

She added: “What is the world waiting for? By the time a full-blown famine is officially declared in Gaza it will already be far, far too late. It’s time to act now. Words are not enough: world leaders must take tangible action to put pressure on the Israeli authorities to resume the flow of aid into Gaza and secure a permanent end to the war, immediately.”

Tasneem, who works with Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO), an umbrella organization of 30 Palestinian NGOs and a partner of ActionAid Palestine, said the situation in Gaza was the worst it had ever been in more than 18 months of war.

She said: “For over 50 days, not a single truck carrying food, medicine, or humanitarian aid has been allowed to enter. This has pushed Gaza into one of the most catastrophic humanitarian crises in recent history. According to the UNOCHA, this is the harshest situation Gaza has faced in more than 18 months, and for us living through it, it's even worse than words can describe.”

“The food situation is unbearable. Families have resorted to milling dried pasta just to create flour, just enough to make a piece of dough or a loaf of bread to feed their children. All bakeries in Gaza have shut down because there is no flour left, no vegetables, no meat, no milk, no eggs...we haven't seen fresh food in months.”

“Prices of whatever little is left have skyrocketed beyond what anyone can afford. And the truth is most people haven't had an income in almost two years. The threat of real famine is no longer just a warning—it's actually here,” she added.

“We are witnessing the slow death of a population under siege. People are dying from malnutrition. Diabetics, cancer patients, and others with chronic illnesses are losing their lives simply because they can't access essential medication. Thousands of injured people are left without the urgent medical care they need.”

“The siege is crushing everyone—but especially the most vulnerable: women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. They are the ones paying the highest price for this inhumanity. We are calling on the international community—on every government, every humanitarian actor, and every person who still believes in human rights—to act. We demand an immediate ceasefire. We demand that the [Israeli] occupation open all crossings and allow the entry of life-saving humanitarian aid—now.”

“By continuing to refuse any aid into Gaza, the Israeli authorities are acting in flagrant breach of international humanitarian law, as well as in breach of a world court order to allow life-saving assistance in. Let us be clear: this is a starvation campaign and amounts to collective punishment of the population in Gaza. Food must never be used as a weapon of war,“ said Tasneem.

Jordan and Qatar condemn Israeli closure of Jerusalem Fund and Endowment offices in occupied Jerusalem

AMMAN, April 29 (WAFA) –

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned on Tuesday the Israeli occupation authorities’ decision to shut down the Jerusalem Fund and Endowment, a Palestinian institution operating independently in Jerusalem, as reported by Jordan’s Petra news agency.

The Ministry described the closure as “a continuation of Israel's systematic policy of imposing new realities that undermine the Palestinian presence, and erase the Arab identity of occupied Jerusalem.”

Ministry Spokesperson Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudhah reaffirmed the Kingdom’s firm rejection of the Israeli government's ongoing actions targeting international and civil society institutions operating in the occupied Palestinian territory, reported Petra. These actions, he stressed, “represent a blatant attempt to strip the Palestinian people of their fundamental rights, including the rights to life, education, and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on their national soil.”

Al-Qudhah urged the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations by compelling Israel's to immediately halt its violations and aggressive practices against the Palestinian people and their institutions, particularly in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), according to Petra.

Meanwhile, Qatar also condemned the Israeli occupation's closure of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Fund and Endowment, considering it a new escalation against the Palestinian people and their national institutions.

In a statement issued this evening, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that Israel’s systematic policies aimed at Judaizing Jerusalem and undermining the steadfastness of its residents are part of the ongoing genocide being committed against the Palestinian people.

The Ministry called on the international community to bear its ethical and legal responsibilities and compel Israel to comply with international legitimacy and resolutions.

Qatar reaffirmed its unwavering and steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, in line with international law and the two-state solution. This includes the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders.

Türk calls on world to prevent total humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza

GENEVA, April 29, 2025 (WAFA) -

UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk today urged the world to act to prevent the total collapse of critical life-saving support in Gaza, where Israeli strikes continue to kill civilians, including in shelters and health facilities.

“As the complete blockade of assistance essential for survival enters its ninth week, there must be concerted international efforts to stop this humanitarian catastrophe from reaching a new unseen level,” Türk said.

“Any use of starvation of the civilian population as a method of war constitutes a war crime, and so do all forms of collective punishment,” the High Commissioner warned.

He also pointed to reports about an Israeli plan to declare Rafa'h Governorate a new humanitarian zone. “Such a plan will almost certainly mean large parts of Gaza and those who cannot easily move, including people with disabilities, those who are sick or injured, and women supporting entire families, will be forced to go without food,” Türk said.

Regarding Israel’s ongoing attacks targeting civilians, Turk said: “These incidents reflect the pattern we have seen during this escalation, of attacks that raise grave concerns of violations of the principles of distinction, proportionality and precautions. Each of these incidents must be fully investigated. Intentionally directing attacks against civilians not taking a direct part in hostilities would constitute a war crime,” Türk stressed.

Addressing Israel's continued targeting of civilian infrastructure essential for survival, the High Commissioner said:" “Such destruction significantly hinders access to water, degrades public health, and obstructs both the delivery of humanitarian aid and conduct of rescue operations, including retrieving the injured and the dead from under the rubble and clearing debris to allow the ambulances to get to the victims,” the High Commissioner said.

Türk reiterated that the cumulative impact of Israeli occupation forces’ conduct in Gaza raises serious concerns that Israel appears to be inflicting on Palestinians in Gaza conditions of life increasingly incompatible with their continued existence as a group in Gaza.

“Third States have clear obligations under international law to ensure that such conduct stops immediately, and they must act accordingly,” Türk said. “They also must search for and bring to justice all perpetrators of crimes under international law, by whomever committed.”

France condemns Israel’s decision to ban two French delegations from entering Israel, calls it regrettable

PARIS, April 29, 2025 (WAFA) –

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned Israel's decision to block the entry of two French delegations that were scheduled to visit Israel and the Palestinian Territory.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry announced that the two delegations, associated with the Decentralized Cooperation Network for Palestine or the France-Palestine Solidarity Association (AFPS), were prevented from traveling to Israel and the Palestinian Territory.

The ministry described the cancellation of the visas for members of the delegations, who were due to visit between April 30 and May 5, as regrettable, counterproductive and harmful to relations.

The statement stressed: “The public accusations by the Israeli Embassy in France alleging links between these associations and terrorist organizations are unacceptable.”

The statement called on Israel to reverse its decisions, which it said punish those working for lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

On April 21, Tel Aviv had also revoked the visas of 27 French lawmakers and officials just two days before their planned visit to Israel and the occupied West Bank.

UNSC meets on the situation in the Middle East, including Palestinian Question

NEW WORK, April 29, 2025 (WAFA) –

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Tuesday evening held a ministerial-level meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question, in New York.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot chaired the debate as his country currently holds the rotating presidency of the Council, while UN Secretary-General António Guterres attended it.

In his speech, UN Secretary-General Guterres warned that “the promise of a two-State solution is at risk of dwindling to the point of disappearance.”

He also warned that the two-state solution “is near a point of no return” and stressed that the international community “has a responsibility to prevent perpetual occupation and violence.”

He encouraged Member States to “go beyond affirmations, and to think creatively about the concrete steps they will take to support a viable two-State solution before it is too late.”

He urged them to “take irreversible action towards implementing a two-State solution” and “not let extremists on any side undermine what remains of the peace process.”

He added that the Middle East is undergoing fundamental shifts, marked by violence and volatility but also opportunity and potential.

He pointed out that “across the Middle East, people demand and deserve a better future, not endless conflict and suffering.”

He called for collective action “to ensure that this turbulent and transitional period meets those aspirations -- and delivers justice, dignity, rights, security and lasting peace.”

The UN chief stated that: “The world cannot afford to watch the two-State solution disappear,” noting that “Political leaders face clear choices -- the choice to be silent, the choice to acquiesce, or the choice to act.”

He went on to say that “the legitimate national aspirations of the Palestinians have been denied – while they endure Israel’s continued presence that the International Court of Justice has found unlawful.”

He warned, "The world cannot afford to watch the two-State solution disappear,” whereby “political leaders face clear choices -- the choice to be silent, the choice to acquiesce, or the choice to act.”

Commenting on the ceasefire agreement that Israel unilaterally ended on March 18,Guterres said: “The ceasefire had brought a glimmer of hope – the long-sought release of hostages and delivery of lifesaving humanitarian relief. But those embers of opportunity were cruelly extinguished with the shattering of the ceasefire on 18 March.”

“Since then, almost 2,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza by Israeli strikes and military operations – including women, children, journalists, and humanitarians,” he added.

Commenting on the humanitarian situation in the Strip, the UN chief said: “The humanitarian situation throughout the Gaza Strip has gone from bad … to worse … to beyond imagination.”

“For nearly two full months, Israel has blocked food, fuel, medicine and commercial supplies, depriving more than two million people of lifesaving relief,” he elaborated while noting that this happened “all while the world watches.”

He voiced his alarm over Israeli officials’ statements about the use of humanitarian aid as a tool for military pressure, and stressed that “aid is non-negotiable.”

Referring to the International Court of Justice’s advisory proceedings on the obligations of Israel, as an occupying Power and a Member of the United Nations, in relation to the presence and activities of the United Nations in and in relation to the Occupied Palestinian Territory, he said that “Israel, as an occupying Power, is under an obligation to ensure food and medical supplies of the population.”

He added that “Israel has an obligation to agree to and facilitate relief schemes in the Occupied Palestinian Territory,” and stressed the obligation to respect and protect humanitarian, medical and United Nations personnel.

He emphasized “the obligation under international law to respect the privileges and immunities of the United Nations and its personnel, including the absolute inviolability of United Nations premises, property and assets – and the immunity from legal process of the United Nations.”

He pointed out that “Such immunity applies to all UN entities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory – including UNRWA – a subsidiary organ of the General Assembly.”

Meanwhile, Amar Bendjama, the Ambassador of Algeria, said that despite the UN Secretary-General’s “tireless efforts to ease the suffering of the Palestinian people,” the international community and the Security Council have both failed to “extend the level of support required to make these efforts impactful.”

“The absence of collective action, the lack of accountability, and the double standard have emboldened the Israeli occupying power to act with total impunity,” he said, adding that the crisis in Gaza is one of the worst humanitarian failures of our generation.

“Today the notion of a Palestinian state feels more like a fading delusion,” the Algerian Ambassador said.

He stated that despite waves of dispossession and despite the immense suffering, the Palestinian people have never surrendered and continue to cling to their homeland, culture and aspirations.

“With the support of the International Community, and through steadfast resilience, the Palestinian people will achieve their inalienable right to self-determination,” he added.

Meanwhile, UK Minister for Africa and the UN  Lord Collins called for returning to the ceasefire to end the terrible bloodshed.

He voiced his profound concern over the World Food Programme’s announcement on Friday that its food stocks in Gaza have run out.

“It is unacceptable that Israel has blocked humanitarian support from entering Gaza for nearly two months, meaning that Palestinian civilians, including one million children, are facing starvation, disease and death,” he added.

He stressed that “UN and other workers must be able to deliver life-saving assistance safely, and in line with humanitarian principles.”

In the meantime, Danish Ambassador Christina Markus Lassen highlighted the worsening situation in Gaza, where no humanitarian aid has been allowed in for almost two months.

She also voiced alarm over reports that the World Food Programme (WFP) has depleted all its food stocks. Furthermore, families “are reporting utter exhaustion from moving numerous times due to Israeli-issued evacuation orders.”

“We will also continue to remind Israel that it must defend itself within the parameters of international law, including international humanitarian law,” she added.

US ambassador Dorothy Shea stated: “Fresh thinking is needed to bring about a durable peace and prosperity that provides opportunities for all the region’s people.”

Commenting on the humanitarian situation in the Strip, she said: “no one wants to see Palestinian civilians in Gaza go hungry or thirsty,” while noting that “a ceasefire agreement would create the condition for the flow of humanitarian aid.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said the tragedy unfolding in Gaza is “without precedent” – both in its scale and its inhumanity.

“This is not merely a humanitarian crisis, it is the systematic destruction of a people and the erasure of a nation’s right to exist,” he said, describing the Israeli strike on al-Ahli Hospital earlier this month as “a horrific massacre.”

He said that the deliberate targeting of civilians and essential infrastructure, the use of starvation and burning of displaced families in tents “are not collateral damages of war, they are methods of war.”

He added that Israel’s unilateral breach of the ceasefire agreement, brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the US, “was a deliberate choice of return to war over diplomacy”.

“In the face of this gloom and devastation, the world must act. The status quo is untenable,” he said, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, full and unhindered humanitarian access, and a clear political horizon grounded in Palestinian statehood.

In the meantime, Russian Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya said the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip is worsened by the nearly 60-day blockade of food and medicines.

He noted that this has led to supplies running out, despite 3,000 trucks from UN Palestine refugee agency (UNRWA) being ready to enter the enclave.

Humanitarian organizations are also warning about an impending famine, particularly among children.

“We must not forget that these actions of Israel are directly impacting the detention conditions of the hostages in the Strip,” he said.

“It is totally unacceptable to use humanitarian assistance as a bargaining chip in negotiations.”

The situation is “artificially exacerbated by Israel's ban on UNRWA’s work,” he added, noting that the agency “plays a key, irreplaceable role in conducting humanitarian operations on the ground and providing comprehensive assistance to Palestinians.”

Nebenzya said undermining the work of UNRWA “is complicating an already difficult situation” for people in Gaza, East Jerusalem and the West Bank, and he urged Israel to reconsider its decision to cease cooperation with the agency.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
